Night Lily
An aerial kinetic sculpture that blooms and wilts overhead — projection-mapped, misting — a space people stay in for hours, some missing the sets they came to see.
An aerial flower suspended overhead, blooming and wilting in continuous rhythm. Petals and tendrils shift through projection-mapped light while mist diffuses into the space below. The work functions as both sculptural object and inhabited environment — a gathering place defined by motion, light, and atmosphere.
Combining precision kinetics, projection mapping, textiles, and fluid dynamics, its systems are designed for weather resistance, remote monitoring, and sustained multi-day outdoor operation.
People routinely lay beneath it for hours — sometimes missing the sets they came to see.
Exhibited repeatedly since 2017, returning frequently to Electric Forest. Its reliability and ability to create communal space have made it one of the festival's most documented installations — valued not for spectacle but for the quality of experience it generates.
